Kokborok Day observed in ADC,

Agartala, 20 Jan, 2010: A two day program was organised by ADC on 19th and 20th Jan 2010 to celebrate 'Kokborok Day'. The program was organised at Nuwai Hall at Khumulung, Capital City of TTAADC. the program was inaugrated by Tribal Welfare Minister Mr Aghore Debbarma, present in the program were Mr. Ranjit Debbarma, CEM ADC, Mr. Radha Charan Debbarma, Education Minister, ADC, several Linguistics and other dignitaries.
While talking to media Radha Charan said that ADC Govt has forwarded several demands to the State Govt. Starting of Kokborok Language Course in all the degree colleges in Tripura from coming Academic year, Name plates in Kokborok in various government offices, announcement in Kokborok in Airport and Railway station etc were some note worthy demands.
Earlier in 18 Jan a seminar on development of Kokborok literature was held at Dasharath Hukumu Hall at Agartala, organised by Tribal Research and Institute, Govt of Tripura, to celebrate the recognition of Kokborok language by the Govt of Tripura and to mark the 'Kokborok Day'

| ".. I am pleased that the TTAADC has organized to celebrate Kokborok day at Khumulwng on 19th & 20th January 2010. We know the State Govt. has recognized the Kok-Borok language on 19th January1979 but till now no such developmental policy is observed except in primary education. The Commissioner & Secretary to the Govt. of Tripura has circulated a Memorandum Vide No. F.4(22)-TRI/ Bhasa Com./04(Part)/ 7670-61 of dated 23rd March2007 in connection with implementation of Kokborok language in accordance with recommendation by the Tripura Upajati Bhasa Commission under Chairmanship of Sri Pabitra Sarkar which contain Recommendation No. 1 to 33. Where announcement in Kokborok in Agartala Airport, All India Radio, Doordarshan and similar other organization and Name plates in Kokborok in various Govt. Offices has already incorporated under Recommendation No. 10 to 16. So all these are not a new agenda I think Mg. Radhacharan Debbarma, Education Minister, ADC know the matter very well. According to such recommendation there have giant responsibility of Tribal Welfare Deptt. , Trbal Research Institute, TTAADC, , Health , Panchayat Depptt. , ICAT, TPSC, PWD, Police Deptt, Law Deptt. , Revenue Deptt. Education Deptt. and all responsible Officers of Tripura. But I dont think all these Departments and responsible Officers are taking due care of such recommendations. However the demand starting of Kokborok Course in degree colleges is really appreciable but how long we have to wait. .."

kokborok is language of borok.
dont we have enough kokborok educated person the chair the community?
Very ridiculous!!!!!!!!!!!!
good that kokborok is introduced in school....but should have been in english script....my nephews can not understand bengali...so they failed in kokborok too...
so pity .."

".. Its the kokborok speakers that are not united, the one who don't study are the person who decides about study.
Its pity even TUJS now INPT did nothing when they were in power and are the one shouting now,
anyway we need english education now, this language/script issues has become only emotional/prestige issue.
No educated parents today would like to send the children to local medium schools today, everyone eyes for english medium schools, only poor people from village go for local medium,
all those who talk big are hypocrites .."
