Agartala, 20 April 2012:"Sena" or Goria Mwtai is being celebrated across the State today.
Goria the biggest festivals of the indigenous people of Tripura and is celebrated by all the coomunities and people of Tripura State and Tripura communities from adjoining areas of Bangladesh.
Every house worship the Goria mwtai offering animals or eggs to Goria mwtai. The family members then take blessing from the elders of the family and villages.
The festival begins from "Buisu".
The Jamatia community make a week long procession or "Horchini beraima" carrying the Goria mwtai from Buisu. The procession went for a week and visited all the villages that falls on its path blessing the people from for properity and happiness.
On the last day or "Sena" the Biya Gwnang Goria returns to its original place.
Their are two Gorai mwtai, Biya Gwnang and Biya Kwrwi. Biya Gwnang Gorai being younger among the is being carried in the procession. Biya Kwrwi gorai is kept in the house of Kherpang.
The youths are seen dancing to the beat of Goria dance and the children showing respects to their elders touching the feet. The village elders enjoy to the taste of 'chwak'. A festive mode seen among the peoples of the state forgetting their misery and suffering.
