By Our Correspondent, feedback@tiprasa.com

Agartala, 29 April, 2012: Chief Minister of Tripura Mr Manik Sarkar hold talked with Opposition Leader Mr Ratanlal Nath in a private hotel to grab Autonomous District Council (ADC) land to distribute among the Bengalis in Tripura, read one SMS that is circulated among the people. On publication in one local daily the news of the SMS widespread among the Tripuri populations and raised discontentment and doubt among the Bengali dominated National Political parties both the ruling CPIM and Congress.

As reported in one local daily, the SMS mentioned the name of Chief Minister Mr Manik Sarkar, Opposition leader Mr Ratanlal Nath of Congress, former minister Mr Brajagopal Ray and another former minister Mr Kesab Majumder. The two former ministers were address as from the Amra Bangalee, a local political party that works for the interest of Bengali communities in Tripura. The meeting was held in one private hotel at Agartala and a secret decision was taken to allot 31 acres of ADC land to Bengali.

It is learn that the case is now followed by CID and the police are in to man-hunt to find the source of the SMS. It will be a daunting task for the Tripura police before they could find the source of the SMS, as SMS can be easily morphed and hacked. One person can easily send SMS in the name of another using the help of technology.

People in the state today are also demanding for an transparent enquiry if any such meeting took place between the Chief Minister and others.

The ADC was formed with a motive to provide political and economic independence to the indigenous people of Tripura. And land inside ADC cannot the allotted to non-tribals, (Bengali). The Tripura land rules also forbid selling of land to Non Tribal in Tripura. In recent times there has been rise in land grabbing in Tripura by Government in the name of development, industries etc.
