Hours of Unity Amongst Tripura Peoples Over the Issue of Renaming of Agartala Airport.

The Left Front Government of Tripura led by Mr. Manik Sarkar have shown again its ill attitudes, illiberal, prejudice and narrow sense towards the Indigenous Peoples of Tripura by way of passing a bill on the floor of the Tripura Legislative Assembly on 29th June, 2010 and the bill was moved /brought into the house by Mr. Sudip Roy Barman, a legislator of INC on the issue of changing the name of the present Agartala Airport well known as Singarbil Airport after the named of the great poet Rabindranath Tagore, wherein except lone INPT legislator Mr.B.K Hrangkhawl who raised the voice to protests against the bill in the house.

There is no shade of doubt, we all are well aware that the Nobel poet- laureate Rabindranath Tagore had no contribution behind the establishment of the Agartala Airport, but had so closed to Maharaja of Tripura in many ways. But it is a historical true fact that the said Airport was established by the last ruler of Tripura kingdom Maharaja Bir Bikram Kishore Manikya Bahadur who created the history of Tripura and architect of modern Tripura by way of setting up of the first Airport of North East India during the World War II , Educational hub; viz: MBB College, Umakanta Academy,Tulsibati School, now IGM Hospital erstwhile V.M Hospital for Health Care , Kotawali P.S , Agartala Town imitating the Connaught place of New Delhi, etc . Most of all the historical monuments in Tripura exists because of his adroitness, farsightedness only. But, today in Tripura the son of the soil have totally become marginalized in term of populations due to colossus influx of illegal immigrant from Bangladesh which really happened after the merger with Indian Union in 1949 and thenceforth the Indigenous Peoples have lost its political power in this land of law. In this backdrop, the left and right parties led by the so non-indigenous peoples, who, representing in the parliamentary system have always been trying to abolish and vanish the entire historical monuments with the full support of the so called power monger tribal leftist leaders in addition the so called Congress ST`s leaders of INC are joining hand with them which really leads to the creation of the land of Bengal so as to unable the son of soil themselves to claim as the ancient Tripura kingdom in days to come. These type of actions or attitudes are really a shameful, loathsome and hatred to the Indigenous Peoples of Tripura as a whole and also condemnable by any of the civil society rather than praise.

Why the left front government is not keen to take up an initiative for setting up new memorable structure after the named of the great poet-laureate Rabindranath Tagore, instead of the Agartala Airport? I hope this course of action plan is seems to expose to pay of disgraceful, disrespectful to the Nobel laureate Rabindranath Tagore rather than honorific/honour/honorific cause of his attainments. I request especially to Mr. Manik Sarkar, the CM of Tripura to abhor the forcibly practice which will make an unhealthy atmosphere of the state. It would be better, if the left front government erect a new structure after the named of the great poet-laureate Rabindranath Tagore and the Agartala Airport which is only link with the rest of the country should be renamed after the great Maharaja Bir Bikram Kishore Manikya Bahadur during left party regime since it was constructed by him that will be applausive, plausible, appreciated and also admittable by every walk of life of this land of law.

In this juncture, I appeal to all section of Borok /Tepperah Peoples especially who leads its nation for its existence to realize and to know one self to another self irrespective of political colour and ideology for the sake of the nation and also be stands united under the platform of radical party that is Indigenous regional Party as because there is no any right political party of Tripura who can fight against the anti tribal policy government till today since 1967. If not so united amongst the Borok peoples than all of us will have to face dire consequences in the near future to come. Perhaps, this is not far!! It is also fact and wise that we the Peoples of Tripura needs to work together for our great future like the sprit of our two great personalities Maharaja Bir Bikram Kishore Manikya Bahadur and Kabi guru Rabindranath Tagore to ends the debate over this issue at the earliest possible so it may turn an ethnic commotion.
